BACKGROUND INFORMATION AND PURPOSE OF THE POST

The Finance and Resources Team is responsible for responsible for HI’s finances, general services and HR in the UK. It comprises the Chief Finance and Operating Officer, a Finance Officer and an Accounting Officer.

The main purpose of this post is:

• To ensure smooth and efficient running of the HI UK office, including office services, IT, internal communications and health & safety
• To act as a key point of contact within the organisation and externally
• To undertake human resources administration for staff and volunteers, including supporting recruitment and follow-up
• To provide administrative support to the Chief Executive, Leadership Team and Board of Trustees

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations

• Maintain the office facilities and environment to agreed service levels
• Act as primary point of contact with the landlord and all suppliers for the office space, proactively dealing with arising issues
• Be responsible for the operation and maintenance of office equipment and IT equipment for all staff and volunteers, and arrange their repair or replacement, in conjunction with the Finance Officer and the Accounting Officer, as need arises
• Act as principal contact person for HI UK’s IT infrastructure and support provider, helping colleagues to access IT support when required and developing and implementing the organisation’s IT strategy
• Manage budget lines associated with running of the office and participate in procurement, primarily of office and IT supplies, liaising with external suppliers.
• Act as designated Health & Safety Officer for the office, including ensuring Health & Safety policies are up to date and being adhered to
• Continually review systems in place within the office, make improvements where required, and communicate these to relevant people

Human Resources

• Provide administrative support and advice for the recruitment of staff, consultants and volunteers, including advertising, interviews, issue of contracts and inductions, liaising with the federation manager and recruitment teams when relevant
• Assist with other HR tasks, including managing staff and volunteer files, managing the HR information system, administrative support for payroll and contributing to updates of the staff handbook
• Support teams on volunteer recruitment, contracts, induction, support and training
• Maintain an up-to-date welcome kit for new starters and provide and coordinate induction training sessions

· Make sure that HR policies and internal processes are updated and well known by all the staff

• Provide support and advice to managers on HR matters, in collaboration with the Chief Finance and Operating Officer and the Chief Executive, including leave management, payroll, pension, changes in contracts or situation, flexible working and flexible hours, diversity and inclusion, potential conflict and interpretation of the Staff Handbook

Administrative support

• Provide administrative support to the Chief Executive, including diary management, preparing and servicing meetings and filing
• Organise and support meetings of the Board of Trustees, including room booking, diary management, preparation of papers, minute-taking and organising catering
• Maintain filing systems
• Deal with enquiries, calls and emails from the public, partners and other HI entities
• Support specific projects as needed

Other tasks

• Contribute to projects led by the Finance and Resources team and the HI UK whole team.

The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) is a membership organisation and the voice of the profession, with over 4,000 members in the UK and overseas. Our role is to champion the specialty, set standards of training and practice, and influence change to make a difference to the lives of patients with eye conditions.

Job Purpose

As part of the four strong events team, this role is responsible for coordinating the delivery of numerous educational events throughout the year. These events support the clinical and non-clinical skills and professional development of our members as key components of lifelong learning and improvement.

In addition, the role will support the Events Manager in the administration of the showcase Annual Congress as well as the Admissions Ceremony. As part of the team, you will also assist other team members as necessary.

Main Purpose and Deliverables

• Delivery of the Training the Trainers Courses (TTT) and Certificate of eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) Courses.
• End to end event, speaker and customer support specifically for the TTT and CESR events and as delegated for the education and seminar programme.
• Assist in the management of the education and seminar programme as well as the Admissions Ceremony with the Events Manager.
• Management of Congress registration.

Main responsibilities

• Liaising with the comms team to market events.
• Respond to all enquiries.
• Manage the online course booking process (this includes payments receipts, etc.)
• Send out event information to attendees.
• Produce feedback and collate the information.
• Send out course completion or attendance certificates.
• Book all rooms as required and catering.
• Organise speakers for events, liaising with relevant stakeholders.
• Book the speakers’ hotel accommodation.
• Maintain the relevant sections on the College website.
• Maintain the database for relevant faculty and facilitators.
• Maintain, in liaison with each TTT Lead, the material to be used for pre-learning and throughout the courses.
• Check and sign off expenses from trainers attending courses.
• Provide administrative support for Ophthalmic Practitioner (OPT) TTT courses.
• Produce delegate and speaker registers.
• Timely uploading of talks on site.
• Be the main point of contact for speakers and chairs during the event.

 Management of Congress registration

• Responsibility for the management of the Congress registration process, working with the Events Manager to the agreed event delivery schedule.
• Set up prices on the Eventsforce database.
• Update congress website with prices.
• Deal with all queries relating to registration.
• Update delegate records and information on the Eventsforce database.
• Add speaker registration and bulk registrations from sponsors.
• Management of on-site registration during the four days of Congress.
• Supervision of other staff members on registration desk.
• Deal with on-site queries and responding appropriately.
• Develop and send out feedback form, collate feedback and distribute.
• Produce the CPD template and send to all delegates who attended.

Support the Skills Co-ordinator/ Skills and Events Administrator when required

• To provide support to trainers on skills courses.
• To set up courses in the absence of the Skills Co-ordinator which includes running courses, cleaning up the skills centre and associated duties undertaken normally by the Skills Co-ordinator.

Other duties

• Assist in the administration of the Admissions Ceremony.
• Some travel is expected, including attendance at events and overnight stays. Working outside normal hours may also be required from time to time.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Events Manager or Head of Education, Training and Events.

About the role

Becoming the Programme Marketing Manager at the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women is a fantastic opportunity to help drive progress for women entrepreneurs in low and middle income countries by engaging more people in our work.

The key purpose of this role is to effectively market our programmes to participants – chiefly our HerVenture business skills microlearning app and our sector-leading Mentoring Women in Business programme.

This will span three main projects:

· to successfully manage a marketing agency to effectively market the HerVenture app to women in South Africa (as part of a fixed-term project with active marketing ongoing until Mar ‘25);

· to successfully manage the same marketing agency to promote the app in Nigeria (as part of a separate fixed-term project with active marketing ongoing until Dec ‘24); and

· to effectively promote the opportunity to become a mentor to a woman entrepreneur through our Mentoring Women in Business programme to paying professionals worldwide. Your objective will be to secure 18+ paid mentors for the Nov ’24 programme intake and 20+ for the May ’25 intake.

Following the completion of the two HerVenture marketing projects, you will also lead other programme marketing initiatives in 2025. These will be determined in late 2024.

Following the May ’25 Mentoring intake you will deliver a strategy, harnessing your learning and analysis to outline an approach for marketing the programme to paying mentors in future.

You will also be called on to support other forms of programme marketing on an ad hoc basis, for example advising on development of corporate pitch decks, or co-designing materials for fundraising events.

This position reports directly to the Head of Communications and Marketing, however this is a highly collaborative role and you will also work closely with the Entrepreneurship programmes team and the Programme Funding team to develop and deliver plans and manage projects.

Our ideal candidate will be a knowledgeable and motivated marketer with experience in ‘selling’ professional development / online volunteering opportunities, and in managing agencies and contractors to deliver on fixed projects as aligned to good marketing practices. You should be highly organised and goals-driven, with a collaborative approach, a growth-oriented mindset, and a strong desire to harness the power of marketing to support women’s economic empowerment.

Caring Dads exists to change current practice to better include fathers in efforts to enhance the safety and well-being of their children. The practitioner will work directly with fathers with an aim to improve relationships with their children, families, and co-parents/carers. This will include promoting the service to a range of teams across Hampshire and Southampton, to generate programme referrals. You will work closely with Hampton Trust domestic abuse perpetrator service to identify client suitability for the Caring Dads programme.

As the Caring Dads Practitioner, you will be required to deliver the Caring Dads and Accredited Domestic Abuse Prevention Training (ADAPT) Programme. This includes one to one support and group work. Groups are delivered on weekday evenings; you will be required to deliver one group work sessions per week.

You will undertake treatment and risk assessments of individuals causing harm in their relationships; this includes active case/risk management of families living with domestic abuse. Although this position is based in Ashurst, you will be co-located into social work teams across Hampshire three days per week, with an aim to providing support and advice in identifying suitable families for the Caring Dads and ADAPT programme.

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led literacy and numeracy programmes across a number of prisons. To ensure the continuation of our programmes during times of staff absence, we are now seeking to recruit a Prison Facilitator on a bank working basis to work across the North region. Working closely with prisons and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will support with the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme in the North region, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships quickly and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. You will also have a willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice, to provide short or long term cover within the region including some overnight stays.

This role will be prison-based. This is a bank role and so the number of days to be worked will vary and are not guaranteed.

About the role 

We are looking for an experienced monitoring, evaluation, analysis, and learning professional with strong understanding and experience of advocacy within an NGO/INGO. You will play a key role in ensuring advocacy in Sightsavers is monitored effectively, and input on Sightsavers strategic data analysis. Building on Sightsavers existing advocacy data systems, you will ensure effective data collection, visualisation and analysis; ability to develop dashboards using PowerBI would be of particular interest, although this is not essential. 

Key duties will include:

• Delivering systems for collecting, managing, and analysing information about national advocacy
• Lead on the coordination of Sightsavers’ Voluntary Stakeholder Review of SDG implementation
• Strengthening systems for sharing lessons about what works and identify challenges that are faced by multiple countries

Rape Crisis England & Wales works in partnership with three of our member centres to deliver the 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line. We lead on the digital infrastructure of the service, including the management of a Cloud Contact Centre and various internal systems used by Support Line operators and managers. Job Purpose: The project aims to deliver a range of trauma-informed learning and development opportunities to women impacted by the criminal justice system. Delivered in our Manchester and Trafford women’s centres, these gender responsive activities, co-produced with women with lived experience, will provide personal and practical skill development that meets their needs and supports their aspirations around employment or education, including a focus on wellbeing and practical learning.

Key Responsibility Areas

1. Co-ordinate and deliver a schedule of trauma informed and gender responsive workshops that aim to address wellbeing and reduce barriers women impacted by the CJS face in accessing employment or education opportunities.
2. Maintain case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording.
3. Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders, such as lived experience groups, education, training and employment networks and local services.
4. Create opportunities for women impacted by the criminal justice system to input into the programme, such as co-production, and peer supporters

The Role

The purpose of the Roma Outreach Worker role is to deliver an effective service to single people who are currently rough sleeping. This post will actively support Roma clients, providing a continued and consistent point of contact whilst assisting them in navigating the various change pathways available to them.

- Able to speak Romani or Romanian fluently or to a high level.

CVAA UK is a membership organisation supporting not-for-profit organisations across the UK who specialise in adoption services. Over 3000 children in the UK need adoption each year because they cannot remain at home or with family members. The CVAA Practice Programme delivers 30 or more online courses each year to those working in the sector, primarily social workers. The programme has developed a strong reputation for attracting a range of subject experts to deliver cost effective, engaging and useful training. Due to a restructure of the team, we are now looking for a Training Manager who can oversee the delivery of the programme from mid to late July 2024. Initially fixed term, it is anticipated that this post will become permanent.

The Training Manager will work with the Head of Practice Development and the Programme Administrator to ensure that the courses are full, delivered effectively and evaluated. Part of the role will also be to source new trainers and support the creation of the programme into 2025.

The CVAA team work remotely across the UK so location of the postholder is not a barrier to recruitment as long as long as they can travel occasionally and come into London for team days. The team is small, diverse and dynamic. Experience of project management or delivery of training or events is more important than knowledge of adoption or children's social care. The Community Builder role focuses on making connections within the community and facilitating local community groups to develop activities and events. This role focuses specifically on engaging younger adults (16 - 30 yrs) and is expected to work closely with existing staff and other community builders in the local area. 

We are ideally seeking applicants with experience of community devlopment work, and good knowledge of digital media. It may well suit someone with lived experience from the target group, or experience of working with this age group.

Main Purpose of Role

·To work with local community groups and individuals using an asset-based approach, to help them become more active in their local communities

·To provide particular focus on connecting younger adults (16-30 years) with their local neighbourhood and wider communities of interest

·To create digital content in support of PRC’s marketing and communications programme, to raise the charity’s profile and promote its role in the local community. In particular, to share positive stories to promote community activities and events, and inspire individuals to participate

Key Tasks

·To engage with local communities within Pershore and its surrounds using an ‘strengths based’ approach, with particular focus on younger adults who are socially isolated

·To create an ‘asset map’ for the local area (e.g. individuals, associations, institutions, places etc.) and identify local connectors

·Support local residents to identify what is important to them, and to create associations, activities or events which are sustainable beyond the project. This will include helping people to identify and source the necessary resources and funding

·Bring together individuals who wish to get more involved in the community, providing support and mentoring to achieve these goals 

·Engage with a range of local organisations and associations (e.g. Wellbeing Hub, Police, library, local businesses), individual community connectors and supporters to create a network of interdependent community support, and to facilitate delivery of community-led projects and solutions

·Work alongside other Community Builders in Wychavon area to ensure alignment of projects, maximise use of local resources and share information, tools and learning

·Facilitate social events, community meetings and ideas fairs at PRC and in the local area to support residents in developing their own programme of activities

·Gather stories, data, outcomes and other evidence of impact for both formal reporting and promotional use

·In collaboration with the Centre Manager develop and deliver a marketing and communications plan which amplifies the local impact of the Community Builder programme and the profile of PRC more widely – with particular emphasis on digital marketing

·Work within the PRC policy framework, with particular regard to Safeguarding policies and procedures and personal safety

·Undertake appropriate networking and professional development opportunities to keep abreast of the wider ABCD and community development programme

This role requires a flexible approach to working hours and a willingness to work across some evenings and weekends on a regular basis, to engage with members of the community when they are available.
